Broadcast Stories
From the Field
We've worked with some of the most established names in broadcasting. Here's how they use Erizos to control their graphics — live.
Live election coverage demands real-time accuracy above everything else. TV2 Denmark's design team relied on Adobe After Effects for their graphics library — a powerful creative tool, but not built for live playout. They needed to bridge their existing creative workflow with a live broadcast infrastructure capable of pushing dynamic data graphics on air, instantly and reliably, across multiple render engines simultaneously.
TV2 Denmark deployed Erizos Studio as the unified control layer connecting every part of their broadcast pipeline. Their designers continued working in After Effects to produce and update templates — Erizos Studio then handled real-time ingestion and control, dispatching graphics to Vizrt Viz Engine for live data overlays and Caspar CG playout servers for content delivery. Operators and on-set presenters shared a single, intuitive interface to drive everything on air.
"All our designers are very competent using Adobe After Effects, and with our library of templates and assets, they are able to produce new stories on the fly.
Niels Borg Head of Graphics, TV2 Denmark
Achievement Award 2023 · Erizos, Fox Sports & Stype
Fox Sports deployed a cutting-edge XR stage at their Los Angeles facility — a fully immersive LED and augmented reality environment powered by Unreal Engine 5 and Stypeland spatial tracking. The problem: their existing graphics infrastructure spanned multiple platforms. Unreal Engine drove the XR environment while Vizrt Viz Engine handled traditional broadcast overlays, requiring operators to work in completely separate systems depending on which rendering platform was in use — doubling complexity and increasing the risk of on-air errors.
Fox Sports migrated their entire graphics operation to Erizos Studio, creating a single unified control interface across all rendering platforms. Whether graphics were destined for the Unreal Engine XR environment or the Vizrt system, operators worked from the same workflow — with no context switching and no platform-specific expertise required at the point of control. Erizos MediaHub centralised asset management across the facility, while Erizos Agent enabled deep integration with their NRCS MOS newsroom system, allowing rundowns to drive graphics automatically.
The George Wensel Technical Achievement Award at the 75th Emmy Awards was presented to Erizos, Fox Sports, and Stype for their pioneering work in real-time XR graphics control — recognising the technical excellence that unified production made possible.
