Revolutionizing XR Graphics with Erizos Studio
Fox Sports debuted a new Studio at its facility at the Fox Studios Lot in Los Angeles that leaned heavily into LED and augmented reality graphics and imagery. A stunning set that integrated Unreal Engine into its studio operations, Fox Sports used Erizos Studio to control their new XR stage.
The Fox Sports XR stage was powered by Unreal Engine using Stypeland. It pushed the limits of what is possible using XR in broadcast and was awarded the prestigious George Wensel Technical Achievement Award at the 2023 Emmy awards together with Erizos and Stype.
Unifying Workflows with Erizos Studio
The rest of the graphics infrastructure was primarily powered with Vizrt technology, which meant Fox Sports was switching between two different workflows, depending on their rendering platform. To unify the workflow, Fox Sports migrated to using Erizos Studio to control all graphics – both Unreal Engine and Vizrt – allowing for more flexibility, operational efficiency, and potential cost savings.
Erizos Studio proved to be a gamechanger for Fox Sports. With a unified workflow, the broadcaster is now able to utilize existing products, but also introduce new and more effective rendering technology without any impact to workflow or productions.
